Socket Taps Coffman for Partnership Role
November 2000 - Socket Internet announced recently that Carson Coffman has been made a full partner in the company.
As vice president of business development for Socket Communications, Coffman has focused on acquisition opportunities, enterprise sales and developing strategic alliances to help position Socket as a leading regional communications carrier. The Columbia-based Internet service provider now serves nearly 500 communities in eight states.
Coffman, who joined the company in 1999, is also involved with new service development for the small business market, government contracts and enterprise sales. His previous duties included operations and management as an Acquisition Specialist and as Interim Director of Customer Care.
"Because of our rapid growth we really needed someone with Carson's valuable experience in corporate development and expansion," Don Howser, Socket's vice president and chief operating officer, said. "His background in executive-level decision making, and his ability to help manage our growth, made him an ideal partner for Socket."
Coffman earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri - Columbia. In addition to his duties at Socket, he serves several non-profit organizations in the community.
